Lancaster Mark I:
Four Roll-Royce Merlin XX or 22 12 cylinder 60 degree vee-type liquid cooled in-line engines, two speed supercharger.

1,460 hp each at 1,905m (6,250ft) in "M" gear

1,435 hp each at 3,350m (11,000ft) in "S" gear

Propeller
Three blade, de Havilland type No. 5140, or Nash Kelvinator type No. A4/138, variable pitch, constant speed, and feathering.

Lancaster Mark II:
Four Bristol Hercules VI or XVI 14 cylinder sleeve-valve, air-cooled radial engines, two speed centrifugal supercharger.

1,735 hp each

Propeller
Three blade D. H. Hydromatic or Rotol constant speed.

Lancaster Mark III:
Four Packard Rolls-Royce Merlin 224 12 cylinder 60 degree vee-type liquid cooled in-line engines, two speed supercharger

Lancaster Mark X:
Same as Mk. III except it was Canadian built.

Fuel Consumption

The fuel consumption of each Merlin engine was 5.5 L (one UK Imp. gal.) of 100 octane petrol per climbing minute with full bomb load.
